X5 and Roskachestvo have signed a five-year agreement: the first ready-to-eat index will appear on the market.

X5 Group (which manages the Pyaterochka, Perekrestok and Chizhik networks) and ANO Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo) have announced a strategic partnership for a period of five years. The agreement involves combining expert and information resources to work together on product quality standards, as well as educating Russians about food safety and conscious consumption.

The first ready-to-eat index: a new level of market transparency

One of the key initiatives of the partnership will be the development and launch of the first ready-to-eat index on the Russian market. This tool will allow you to track demand, availability, and demand dynamics in a segment that is currently the fastest growing in retail, but remains the most sensitive in terms of food safety.

According to experts, the introduction of the index together with X5 will be an important step to increase the transparency of the ready-to-eat category. The systematized market data will help both producers to adjust the offer, and buyers — to make more informed choice.

Educational projects and the development of a culture of quality

  • The parties will also focus on improving the quality culture among suppliers. For this purpose, within the framework of the agreement, it is planned:
  • Joint industry events include conferences, round tables, and expert sessions to share experiences and discuss standards.
  • Professional educational programs on quality management based on the Academy of Roskachestvo. This will allow us to train specialists who are able to implement modern approaches to control at all stages of production and distribution.

Roskachestvo's expertise and X5 scale: connecting resources

As Yulia Mikhaleva, deputy head of Roskachestvo, noted, the partnership with X5 makes it possible to combine the independent expertise of the agency with the scale and experience of the largest player in the retail market. Joint efforts are aimed at supporting responsible domestic producers and improving customer literacy.

X5, in turn, already has significant groundwork in the field of quality control. In 2025, the company was the first in Russia to develop and implement an internal standard for the quality and food safety of the prepared food category. The document covers the entire product lifecycle, from production to storage and transportation, and imposes strict technology compliance requirements.

The sign "X5 Quality System" on the packages is a confirmation of the retailer's zero tolerance to violations. It is placed on ready-made food of its own brands:

  • "Select Intersection"
  • Pyaterochka Cafe
  • "Taste & Benefit"

Combining the efforts of the retail leader and the state quality system is designed not only to raise standards in the industry, but also to form a clearer understanding among customers of the criteria for safe and informed food choice.
