Yandex Go has integrated Alice AI for product selection directly in chat

Artificial intelligence continues to make its way into everyday services. This time, Alice AI has received a new feature in the Yandex Go app — the neural network now helps users choose products without leaving the chat. This applies both to clothing and gadgets, as well as to more complex categories, such as climate control equipment.

What the updated Alice AI can do

The new skill allows the neural network to perform several types of tasks at once:

• search for an item based on a specific style or description;
• compare several smartphone models with each other;
• provide recommendations on choosing household appliances — for example, selecting an air conditioner for a bedroom, taking into account the room area and preferences.

Thanks to this, users can solve more everyday tasks while staying in the familiar chat of a single app.

Where and to whom it is already available

At the first stage, the feature became available to residents of Moscow and Saint Petersburg who had previously submitted an application to the waiting list. According to Yandex, there were more than one million such applicants.

In the future, Alice AI will be launched for all Yandex Go users without exception.

Not only purchases

Help with choosing products is just one of the new areas of work for the neural network. Overall, Alice AI is already being actively used to speed up and simplify everyday urban tasks. With its help, users can:

• order a taxi;
• arrange grocery delivery;
• choose a restaurant;
• organize other services within the app.

How it works

To start a dialogue with the neural network, it is enough to tap the “Find with Alice AI” button on the main screen of Yandex Go. The request can be entered either by text or by voice. For example:

• “A themed book for a child under one thousand rubles”;
• “Which lawn mower to choose for a country house”.

Then Market’s AI agent Mark, integrated into the chat, will clarify the details, ask follow-up questions, and suggest suitable options from the marketplace assortment.
